Setting Up Prompt Monitoring

Setting Up Prompt Monitoring Prompt monitoring is the core of AI Rankia. You choose prompts (search queries your customers ask AI), select which AI models to track, and AI Rankia monitors them on a recurring schedule. How to add prompts 1. Go to Prompt Selection in the sidebar 2. Type your prompt — a conversational query your customers would ask 3. Select which AI models to monitor 4. Set your target country (AI responses vary by region) 5. Choose frequency: daily or weekly 6. Click to add the prompt to your monitoring list Real prompts being monitored on the platform | Prompt | Models | Credits/run | Location | Frequency | |--------|--------|-------------|----------|-----------| | "What is the best AI SEO platform I can subscribe to today for full site analysis?" | GPT 5, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, AI Mode, Grok | 9 | United States | Weekly | | "best ai seo tools" | AI Overview, GPT 5, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, AI Mode, Grok | 11 | Global | Weekly | | "cuales son las mejores herramientas para geo seo?" | AI Overview, GPT 5, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, AI Mode, Grok | 11 | Germany | Weekly | | "top indie musician in India" | GPT 5 Search | 1 | Global | Daily | | "best biryani places in Kolkata" | GPT 5, Perplexity, Claude | 5 | Global | Weekly | Notice the variety — prompts can be in any language, target any country, and use any combination of models. Choosing the right prompts Think like your customer, not like a marketer: - Conversational questions: "What's the best tool for tracking SEO performance?" - Comparison queries: "Mailchimp vs ConvertKit for small businesses" - Problem-solving: "How do I get more organic traffic to my e-commerce site?" - Recommendation: "Best alternatives to [competitor name]" - In your target language: "cuales son las mejores herramientas para geo seo?" Use AI Prompt Discovery (sidebar) to automatically generate relevant prompt suggestions. Costs 3 credits per discovery run. Selecting AI models AI Rankia offers two tiers: Explorer — native models with web search These simulate a real user searching the web through an AI engine. They produce the most realistic results. | Model | Credit cost | |-------|------------| | GPT 5 Web Search | 1 | | Google AI Overview | 1 | | Google AI Mode | 1 | | Perplexity Sonar | 1 | | Grok 4.1 Web Search | 1 | | Gemini Search Latest | 2 | | Claude Search Latest | 3 | Voyager — non-native API models These query the model directly via API without web search. Useful for testing how LLMs respond from training data alone. All cost 1 credit each. Models: DeepSeek v3, DeepSeek R1, Llama 4 Maverick, Claude Sonnet 4, GPT 5, Grok 4, Ernie 4.5 (Baidu), Qwen 3, Mistral Medium, Kimi K2 Recommendation: Start with 5 cheapest native models (GPT 5, AI Overview, AI Mode, Perplexity, Grok) = 5 credits per run. This covers the engines most people actually use. Monitoring cost calculator | Prompts | Models | Credits/run | Weekly (×4) | Monthly total | |---------|--------|-------------|-------------|---------------| | 10 | 5 native (all 1-credit) | 50 | 200 | 200 credits | | 10 | 7 native (incl. Understanding Brand Mentions and Citations

Understanding Brand Mentions and Citations AI Rankia tracks two distinct things when monitoring your prompts: brand mentions (when an AI names your brand) and citations (when an AI references your website URL as a source). Understanding both is key to improving your visibility. Brand mentions A brand mention occurs when an AI model includes your brand name in its response. For example, if someone asks "best email marketing tools" and ChatGPT says "Mailchimp, ConvertKit, and ActiveCampaign are popular options," those three brands got mentioned. Go to Brand Mentions in the sidebar to see: - Which AI models mention your brand and how frequently - A summary view aggregating mentions across all monitored prompts - Detailed view showing the exact AI response text for each mention - Trend data showing how mentions change over time Citations and source tracking A citation occurs when an AI model links to or references a URL from your website as a source for its answer. Citations are often more valuable than mentions because they drive referral traffic. In the monitoring dashboard, each prompt result shows which URLs were cited by each AI model. You can see: - Which of your pages get cited most often - Which competitor pages get cited instead of yours - Whether you're cited as a source but not mentioned by name (a common gap) Brand Mentions Summary vs. Details AI Rankia offers two views: Brand Mentions Summary — aggregated view showing total mention counts across all prompts, broken down by AI model. Costs 1 credit. Good for a quick health check. Brand Mentions Details — full drill-down into each prompt, each model, each response. Costs 1 credit. Use this when you need to understand exactly what AI models are saying about you. Trend Mentions The Trend Mentions view (sidebar) shows how your brand mentions and citations change over time. This is where you spot whether your optimization efforts are working — look for upward trends after implementing schema markup, publishing new content, or earning new citations. What to do with this data - Mentioned but not cited: Your brand is known but AI doesn't link to your site. Improve your content's structure and schema markup so AI models can reference specific URLs. - Cited but not mentioned: AI uses your content as a source but doesn't name your brand. Add clearer brand signals to your most-cited pages. - Neither mentioned nor cited: You need to build topical authority. Use the Mentions Opportunities tool to find where competitors are cited and you're not. - Both mentioned and cited: You're in good shape. Monitor for changes and expand to new prompts.

AI Overview Ranked Keywords

AI Overview Ranked Keywords Google AI Overviews appear at the top of search results for 44% of queries — above all traditional organic results. The AI Overview Ranked Keywords tool shows which of your existing Google-ranked keywords trigger AI Overviews, so you can prioritize optimization where it matters most. Why this matters If you already rank on page 1 of Google for a keyword that triggers an AI Overview, you're close to being cited in that overview. A small optimization (adding schema, improving content structure) can push you into the AI Overview — the most prominent position in search results. How to use it 1. Go to GEO Tools → AI Overview Ranked Keywords in the sidebar 2. Enter your domain 3. AI Rankia cross-references your Google-ranked keywords with Google's AI Overview data 4. You get a list of keywords where you rank AND where an AI Overview exists What you'll see For each keyword: - Your Google rank — your current position in traditional search results - AI Overview present — whether Google shows an AI Overview for this keyword - Cited in AI Overview — whether your URL is one of the sources cited in the AI Overview - Competitor citations — which competitors are cited instead How to act on the results You rank well + AI Overview exists + you're NOT cited: This is your highest-impact opportunity. Your content is already relevant (Google ranks you) but not structured well enough for AI to cite. Actions: add Schema markup, improve heading structure, make content more comprehensive. You rank well + AI Overview exists + you ARE cited: You're in a strong position. Monitor for changes and keep your content updated. You rank well + no AI Overview: No immediate AI optimization needed for this keyword. Focus on keywords that do trigger AI Overviews. Combining with other tools Use AI Overview Ranked Keywords (3 credits) as your first research step to identify high-potential keywords. Then: - Run the Schema Creator (100 credits) on the pages ranking for those keywords - Use Query Fan-Out (2 credits) to understand what sub-queries AI generates for those terms - Check Mentions Opportunities (50 credits) to find citation gaps This progression goes from cheapest to most expensive, building context at each step. Credit cost 3 credits per query. One of the most cost-effective tools for finding quick wins.
